In 2023, Chippenham Folk Festival celebrated its 50th anniversary, still maintaining a core ethos of “being primarily a participatory festival promoting and presenting some of the best in English Folk Song, Music and Dance”. It does this by presenting over 200 individual events and workshops, all in one weekend on the Spring Bank Holiday.
The Cause has acted as a central part of the Chippenham Folk Festival for a long time. The creative team even have their offices here. Alongside this, we will be running events and a bar all weekend. Check back here in the near future to confirm our programme.
For four days over May bank holiday weekend, The Cause will join Chippenham in a transformation to accommodate the folkies. It is a wonderful celebration of all things community. This year, the festival run from 23-26 May.
